Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Reduction at the Bottom of the Rankings
"Resources are not a major issue for now; I'm self-sufficient every day thanks to a large number of basic buildings," Qin Muye looked at his own resource column. With the Spirit Monsters working and Blood Frenzy guaranteeing combat power, many things became easier.
[Basic Resources]
[Food: Daily Output 11425]
[Minerals: Daily Output 3500]
[Wood: Daily Output 3500]
[Gold Coin: Daily Output 35000]
[Special Resources]
[Gemstone: Daily Output 180]
[Crystal: Daily Output 180]
[Sulfur: Daily Output 180]
[Mercury: Daily Output 180]
At first glance it seems like food could increase by over eleven thousand units a day, but in reality, about ten thousand units of food are consumed every day.
The Frenzy Blood Spirit Monster consumes twelve units a day, Magic Energy Spirit Monster nine units a day, and adding in the consumption of Qin Muye, Demon Blood, and Blood Frenzy amounts to barely a ripple.
It's precisely because he exchanged large amounts of basic resource building blueprints to build and upgrade them all to LV3 that the food resources have a surplus of over a thousand units per day. If it were just the food given by monster sieges, it really wouldn't last more than a few days.
One could say that the most abundant buildings in his territory are now farms.
As for Gold Coins or other basic resources, there weren't that many to begin with, but thanks to the percentage boosts provided by ancillary buildings of these resource structures. For example, the Water Wheel and mills of the farms, and forest stations of the logging camps, among other buildings, provide enhancements, so we have this neat output of 3500. As for Special Resources, well, there's no helping it, only 180 a day can be produced. A level three Special Resource building can house thirty troops, producing three units per soldier a day. He now has two of each building, hence the output of 180 units of Special Resources a day.
So Qin Muye judges that his territory is now on a steady path of improvement. All he needs is to keep going. Although he dares not say that he will get ahead, at least he's gradually getting stronger.
Getting ahead is something he'd rather not contemplate since other Lords are too outrageous. He simply can't catch up to them and should rather focus on living his own life.
If the gap were smaller, Qin Muye would still want to catch up. But after seeing the speeds of the top ten in the monster siege event's ranking competition, he gave up on the idea of catching up.
The first spot is still held by the True Dragon Emperor, whose average speed is still 0.1 seconds, five waves at 0.1 seconds, indicating that the monster sieges pose no difficulty for him. Of course, the same goes for everyone in the top ten of the ranking list.
It's only dangerous for those of us who are the lower-tier characters.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
After this fifth wave of the monster siege, his position on the leaderboard moved up to 164, the first in the 1-Rank Champion Level category. Moving up any further would involve reaching 2-Rank.
Despite ranking so far ahead, the reality is that he's nearly at the bottom. Out of 1000 Lords, only 216 remain.
This fifth wave didn't just wipe out those Lords who were ranked lower, but even those ranked between 100 and 200 also fell, which is why Qin Muye was able to advance so quickly.
Most of those who perished were of 2-Rank and 1-Rank Champion Levels.
If it hadn't been for Blood Frenzy, he would have surely perished in this fifth wave, and winning would not have been this easy.
"I have quite a surplus of Gold Coins, and there's still an afternoon left. Should I promote the Magic Energy Spirit Monster to a 2-Rank Soldier?" Qin Muye pondered over this matter. Yesterday, he used five consumable items that increased Knowledge by 10 points for 24 hours while he was upgrading Blood Frenzy. It lasted 24 hours and only expired at noon today. During that lengthy period, he not only studied Magic and upgraded Blood Frenzy, but he also spent most of the time researching the Spirit Monsters and the Spirit Monster Workshop. He researched three aspects: reducing costs, expanding scale, and raising ranks. Except for reducing costs, he made progress on the other two.
He planned to turn the small workshop into a factory in order to increase the number of Spirit Monsters produced. Right now, it's 100 a week. He was quite ambitious, aiming for 1000!
Moreover, if it were still just a small workshop, it wouldn't be able to support 2-Rank Magic Energy Spirit Monsters.
Otherwise, why can't Big Spirit Monsters come out of the Spirit Monster Workshop but only from the Spirit Monster Factory? Qin Muye referenced the methods of the Spirit Monster Factory to upgrade the Magic Energy Spirit Monster Workshop, turning it into a Magic Energy Spirit Monster Factory.
As for ranks, this time he planned to further advance the Magic Energy Spirit Monster. Besides the Elemental Resonance ability, he also planned to include an effect modified from the Death
Curse.
This was based on data obtained from Blood Frenzy and another Magic Energy Spirit Monster that perished due to the Death Curse.
As for the possible existence of Death Energy Emission? That's out of the question. Qin Muye could balance the Power of Death and Element quite nicely.
Keep in mind that the Elemental Resonance on the Magic Energy Spirit Monster was inspired by Demon Blood's experience with Magic Rebound, which was reducing it to a level that wouldn't harm itself while gaining benefits, combined with the secret technique Blood Frenzy to create Elemental Resonance.
Now, he naturally aims to reduce the negative effects of Death Energy Emission to a degree that it won't harm the Magic Energy Spirit Monster, and then using the secret technique, Death Curse, to modify it into a similar new skill.
"However, if I do this, I'll also have to modify Elemental Resonance, otherwise, there will be a conflict."
Currently, Elemental Resonance actually encompasses only the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, so they must be separated to create a new cycle rather than being combined with Blood Frenzy, or else they'll conflict with the new Power of Death.
Although the Power of Death is technically an Element, it isn't part of the same system. Otherwise, why would there be a distinction between Elemental Masters and Undead Mages? In fact, if Qin Muye had enough Knowledge about the four grand Elements, he could completely disassemble them and form four brand-new Skills, just like with the Power of
Death.
Unfortunately, he does not.
Before, he wanted to exchange for a Mage Reclassification Certificate, but it was postponed again due to the development of his territory. So, he could only consider it after the next
monster siege.
But first, he needed to finish exchanging the remaining basic buildings and then exchange for the consumable Items he needed, namely those that could temporarily increase the Knowledge Attribute.
He did think about exchanging for Treasures, but unfortunately, they were all Advanced Treasures starting at seven-digit Points. Rare building blueprints started at around five digits and didn't even include construction resources, which made them even more precious. Therefore, high-end Items were out of reach, and he couldn't afford them. The key was to get the basic infrastructure done right.
"What a pity, the Trading House in the market is just for show." It's not just Qin Muye who is lacking; all Lords are short on goods. It's simply not feasible to sell good Items in the Trading House, much better to go to the store instead.
What do you think?
