Chapter 73 Bike Race.
Lisa climbed back on top of Hugo, her movements slow and deliberate as she nestled herself against his chest.
Her warm, soft body pressed into him as she let out a content sigh, her head resting just under his chin.
For a moment, Hugo was frozen, unsure of what to do or think.
'Wait… what is this?' he wondered, blinking in confusion. 'She's… cuddling? Why is she cuddling? Isn't this supposed to happen after sex? Is this part of the process? Did I miss a memo? Is there a cuddle phase nobody told me about? Or… is this like the pre boss battle rest zone in games?'Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Hugo's confusion turned into determination. He was not about to let the most amazing night of his life just… end like this.
Not when they'd just reached the most incredible peak of pleasure! He would be a total failure of a Casanova if he didn't manage to reach third base today!
Gently, he tilted his head down, brushing his lips against her earlobe. When Lisa didn't move away, he smirked to himself and pressed on, planting soft, teasing kisses along the side of her neck.
Lisa let out a soft, breathy moan, which sent Hugo's confidence soaring. 'That's right, Hugo! You're back in the game!' he thought triumphantly, already picturing the next steps.
But just as he leaned in further, Lisa placed a hand firmly on his chest and stopped him. "Not today," she said softly, her voice gentle but leaving no room for argument.
Hugo froze. He blinked. Then blinked again. "Huh? Not… what?"
She smiled sweetly, her eyes soft with affection. "Not today," she repeated, like it was the simplest thing in the world.
Hugo's jaw dropped so fast it practically hit the bed. His face twisted into the most dramatic look of disbelief humanly possible—wide eyes, slack mouth, and a touch of betrayal.
He looked like a cartoon character who'd just seen their ice cream cone fall to the ground in slow motion.
'Not today?' his mind screamed. 'NOT TODAY?! What do you mean not today? We were literally on the highway, full speed ahead, and now you're pulling the emergency brake?! What kind of cliffhanger is this?! This is cruelty! This is injustice! This is… this is… how is this my life?!'
Desperate for clarity, he stammered, "Wait, wait… you're joking, right? Like, haha, funny joke? Because I'm totally good to keep going. I've got energy! Stamina! I can do this all night—"
Lisa giggled softly, cutting him off. "You're amazing, Hugo. But I have a rule."
Hugo blinked, his mind scrambling. "A rule?"
She nodded, biting her lip like she was a little embarrassed to admit it. "I can't… you know… go all the way with a guy unless he beats me in a bike race."
For a moment, Hugo thought he'd misheard her. He sat up slightly, staring at her like she'd just spoken in an alien language. "I'm sorry… a bike race?"
For a moment, Hugo thought he'd misheard her. He sat up slightly, staring at her like she'd just spoken in an alien language. "I'm sorry… a bike race?"
Lisa nodded, completely serious. "It's my rule."
The silence that followed was so loud it could've shattered glass. Hugo's brain struggled to process this bizarre new information.
'A bike race? What is this, Mario Kart? What kind of random anime protagonist nonsense is this? A bike race? What's next, a dance-off? A cooking competition?'
"A bike race?" he repeated, his voice high-pitched with disbelief. "You mean like… with actual bicycles?"
Lisa nodded again, smiling. "Yep. It's my thing. No bike race, no…" She trailed off, her cheeks turning pink.
Hugo slumped back into the pillow, covering his face with his hands. 'A BIKE RACE. Of all the things she could've said, it had to be a bike race. Why not a board game? An arm wrestle? I'd even settle for a karaoke contest! But a bike race? The last time I rode a bike, I fell into a bush and got stuck there for ten minutes!'
Desperate for a way out of this madness, Hugo mentally called up his system interface.
Surely all the… ahem… progress he'd made with Lisa would be enough to complete the death mission, right? She clearly liked him, and they'd gotten… well, pretty far. That had to count for something.
But when he checked, his heart sank. The mission progress bar remained stubbornly incomplete.
"Are you kidding me?!" he muttered under his breath. 'So we need actual sex to finish the mission? Of course. Of course. Because my life is one giant joke and the punchline is always ME.'
Clinging to a shred of hope, Hugo turned back to Lisa. "Okay, but hear me out. What if we just… skipped the bike race? Just this once? I mean, it's not like—"
Before he could finish, Lisa leaned down and kissed him deeply, silencing his protests. Her lips were warm and soft, and for a moment, Hugo forgot what he was even complaining about.
But then the kiss ended, and Lisa snuggled into his chest, her breathing slowing as she drifted off to sleep.
Hugo lay there, staring at the ceiling, his body still painfully hard and his mind racing. 'She's asleep. She's actually asleep. And I'm still…'
He glanced down at his situation, groaning internally. 'This is a war crime. This has to be against some kind of law. Sanchez never warned me about this. What am I supposed to do now? Count sheep? Pray? Take a cold shower?'
As Lisa's soft breaths tickled his chest, Hugo sighed in defeat. 'Guess I'd better start training for that stupid bike race.'
