Chapter 494 Bizarre Creature
Lin Shen and Wei Wufu followed behind, which basically meant cleaning up the battlefield and collecting various Spirit Bases and liquids for future use.
The mutation rate in the underground space was quite high, although not as exaggerated as in the Realm King Planet, it was much stronger than other places, even the Giant Ring Star didn't have such a high mutation rate.
Wei Changqing allowed them to pick and keep anything useful they found, to take away if possible, and to set aside what couldn't be taken, without delaying the action plan.
The nearby Nirvana Creatures that could be found had all been cleared out, and several Nirvana Beings searched again to make sure no Nirvana Creatures were appearing nearby before they headed towards the place that nurtured the Nirvana Creatures.
Before they reached the place, Wei Changqing had already admonished everyone to be fully prepared.
Lin Shen took out the Celestial No.7 Battle Suit and wore it, then summoned Carapace to protect his whole body, directly entering the Super Base Form.
On one side of his waist hung the Tyrant's Pet Gun, on the other the Scrap Sword, and in his hands, he held the Inheritance Fan.
If the seven Nirvana Beings from the Wei Family were so powerful yet so wary of that Nirvana Creature, Lin Shen didn't dare to be careless in the slightest.
"Wei, try this and see if you can get used to it," Lin Shen said, seeing Wei donning the White Robe but without a weapon in hand, and tossed the Evil Ghost Blade to him.
Wei Wufu caught the Evil Ghost Blade, tried it out, and nodded, "It works."
After everyone was ready, they continued forward, led by Wei Changqing.
After crossing several mountains, Lin Shen saw a giant log appear between the peaks ahead.
It was difficult to estimate how big the log was; it was wedged between two mountain peaks, like a long bridge connecting them.
The log was entirely icy blue as if made of blue jade. It was referred to as a log rather than a jade column because on one side of the log, there was a lonely small twig with a few leaves on it. The leaves were emerald and transparent, even more so than top-grade blue jade, akin to flawless blue crystal.
Below that log, there was a shuttle-shaped black Bug Sac hanging, about thirteen to fourteen meters in length, with a diameter of around three meters at its widest.
There was an opening beneath the black Bug Sac with half of a creature's body protruding out, hanging upside down beneath it.
The creature was even more bizarre. Its bare upper body exposed outside of the sac resembled that of a very muscular Human, with arms and hands indistinguishable from those of a human body.
But its head was different from that of a human. Though it had facial features, it had no hair, and instead appeared to be wearing a blue steel helmet. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that it wasn't a helmet, but a blue Carapace that was growing on its head.
On top of the Carapace, there were a pair of antennae resembling snail antennae, which were clearly grown from the Carapace itself.
Although its face looked similar to a human's, even strikingly angular, the presence of the helmet-like Carapace and a pair of fleshy antennae, coupled with a layer of transparent mucus covering it, gave off a very unsettling vibe.
It hung there inverted below the Bug Sac, its upper body exposed, hands hanging down, each clutching something resembling oversized wolf's teeth in its dangling hands.
As if sensing the arrival of the group, the creature that had its eyes closed suddenly opened them, revealing eyes similar to those of a fly's compound eyes.
The eyes were particularly large and made of black crystals, with a honeycomb-like hexagonal structure inside, each a small eye, possibly amounting to thousands in number.
Without any pointers from Wei Changqing, Lin Shen also guessed that this bizarre creature must be what they referred to as a Nirvana Creature.
Lin Shen looked around but didn't see any features of the Nirvana Land, except for the giant ice-blue round log wedged between two mountain peaks, which was utterly inscrutable in origin.
That strange Nirvana Creature must have been nurtured from the round log.
Lin Shen examined the round log because one end of the bug sac was near the log, with at least a kilometer distance to the other end, Lin Shen and Wei's task was to try to bring down the round log wedged between the two peaks while Wei Changqing and the others besieged the bizarre creature.
According to the Wei family's conjecture, the round log lying between two mountains was drawing some energy from the mountains to provide for the nurturing of the bizarre creature.
If they could bring down the round log and cut off the creature's energy supply, it would not be so easy for the bizarre creature to be fully nurtured and emerge.
Without its source of energy, the creature's abilities might diminish significantly.
The bizarre creature watched them coldly but made no move.
With a cold command from Wei Changqing, the seven Nirvana Beings of the Wei family split into two groups and climbed the two peaks. Three on one side and four on the other, they ran across the round log toward the location of the strange being, leaving trails of afterimages so fast that they appeared while they dashed past.
Before they even arrived, they unleashed their Blade Qi in a ferocious assault, with waves of purple Blade Qi that could cut through mountains and rivers transforming into intertwining Purple Qi Phoenixes slashing towards the bizarre creature.
Lin Shen had already witnessed the Wei family's Phoenix Slaying Immortal Sword Skill, enhanced with Purple Profound Qi, powerful enough to sever mountains.
In a one-on-one situation, even Ye Ya might not be able to suppress a Nirvana Being from the Wei family endowed with Nirvana Attributes and the Phoenix Slaying Immortal Sword skill.
The Attribute carried by Purple Profound Qi greatly enhanced their surrounding Attribute, the potency of skills, and stamina, and the Purple Profound Qi struck with an evil-purging effect.
This so-called evil-purging effect actually meant greater destructive power, functioning effectively against various Attributes.
In essence, the Purple Profound Qi developed by the Wei family was an exceedingly comprehensive and dominant Nirvana Attribute.
The more times of Nirvana, the greater the enhancement to oneself.
Initially, it might not compare to those with a single Nirvana Attribute, but after several Nirvanas, the advantages of Purple Profound Qi would gradually become evident, far surpassing the power of conventional single Nirvana Attributes.
Regrettably, on their home planet, there weren't many treasures that could suppress the physical impact of Nirvana, so the Wei family members could only rely on their will and some secret techniques developed over generations to counteract the effects of multiple Nirvanas on their bodies.
Under such circumstances, members of the Wei family generally completed Nirvana seven times, and if they attempted an eighth one, there was a high chance that they would have mental issues or even become Nirvana Beings devoid of humanity.
Among the living Nirvana Beings of the Wei family, only Wei Changqing had broken through seven Nirvanas, reaching an astounding nine Nirvanas.
Six who had undergone Nirvana seven times and one who had achieved it nine times unleashed their Phoenix Slaying Immortal Sword Skill on the bizarre creature.
Seven streams of Phoenix Blade Qi attacked the bizarre creature from different directions, and the creature, with a stern expression, started to move its hanging arms.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
