Chapter 477: Fishing
Chapter 477: Fishing
Lu Yang had no idea that the guests invited by the Seek Tao Sect were currently being attacked by another group of guests.
In the world of cultivation, such occurrences were commonplace. As cultivators wielded immense power, they often acted on their whims. Fighting and killing were the norm, and being hunted down was not unusual.
Bu Yu Taoist deeply understood this sentiment.
After indulging in the ritual, the Immortal Fairy gifted Lu Yang his body back.
Various senior brothers and sisters set up stalls along the roadside, offering a myriad of activities. Lu Yang couldn't recognize them all.
When the suggestion to host their own games was made, the senior brothers and sisters were eager to try, each with their own ideas. Applications flew towards the cave abode like snowflakes. The Immortal Fairy delegated the task to Lu Yang, who, overwhelmed by the number of applications, handed the responsibility to the eldest senior sister.
Her criteria for approval were simple: as long as it wasn't dangerous and didn't damage the reputation of the Seek Tao Sect, the activity could be held.
"Master Lu."
"Greetings, Master Lu."
"Hello, Master Lu."Along the way, Lu Yang was greeted by many. He nodded in response, enjoying the feeling.
Lu Yang changed out of his heavy ceremonial robes.
"Acting Sect Master, would you like to buy some books?" A senior brother, who often guarded the mission hall, called out to Lu Yang.
Members of the Seek Tao Sect referred to Lu Yang as the Acting Sect Master, while outsiders called him Sect Master.
"Buy books? Aren't there enough in the Scripture Repository?" Lu Yang was puzzled.
"These are rare treasures not found in the Scripture Repository. Would you like to take a look?" The senior brother from the mission hall encouraged. Lu Yang was intrigued and stopped at the book stall to see what was on offer.
"What do you have here?"
"Although you are the disciple of the Sect Master, you probably haven't had much contact with him. I have a biography written by the Sect Master himself, detailing his life. Would you like to buy a copy?"
"My master's biography?" This was indeed something not found in the Scripture Repository, and Lu Yang was very tempted.
"I'll take one."
"Fifty contribution points."
Lu Yang clicked his tongue. Fifty contribution points for a book was quite expensive. However, he had accumulated many contribution points from his frequent accomplishments, so he didn't mind spending a bit.
After transferring the contribution points, the senior brother from the mission hall handed Lu Yang a book with a worn cover.
"The Evolution of the Great Xia Dynasty's Prison Environment Over Two Thousand Years"
"...Is this really my master's biography?"
Lu Yang suddenly remembered hearing about this book from the eldest senior sister. She had mentioned that their master felt that one should leave something behind in life, so he wrote this book based on his personal experiences.
Strictly speaking, the content of this book was more reliable than folklore and could indeed be considered a biography.
Lu Yang felt a pang of regret. This book could be bought with a few silver pieces outside, but within their own sect, it cost fifty contribution points.
Even the Sect Master was being taken advantage of!
"Don't be angry, Acting Sect Master. I'll give you another book for free," the senior brother from the mission hall said, showing a bit of conscience.
"What book?"
"The Sect Master has enemies all over the world. As his youngest disciple, you're likely to encounter them when you go out. I'll give you a list of the Sect Master's enemies. How about that?"
"That sounds more like it."
Lu Yang accepted the book, titled "List of Body Fusion Stage Cultivators in the Great Xia Dynasty."
"...So every Body Fusion stage cultivator is my master's enemy?"
The senior brother from the mission hall waved his hand and opened the book for Lu Yang. "Not exactly. Look, I've marked a few names in red."
"These are my master's enemies?"
"These are the only ones who aren't."
Lu Yang felt exhausted. He had a master who hadn't taught him anything but had enemies everywhere.
"Take care, Acting Sect Master. Come again next time," the senior brother from the mission hall warmly saw Lu Yang off.
"Excuse me, senior brother, do you still have that book?" After Lu Yang left, someone came to buy a book.
"Which one?" The senior brother from the mission hall squinted at the newcomer.
"The 'List of Body Fusion Stage Cultivators in the Great Xia Dynasty.' I haven't seen this book outside." The buyer, who looked about Lu Yang's age, scratched his head and smiled awkwardly under the senior brother's scrutinizing gaze.
"I'm Zhou Qingshi from the Rock Sect, here for the finals. I thought it would be impolite not to recognize Body Fusion stage seniors when I meet them, so I wanted to buy the book to study."
Hearing this, the senior brother from the mission hall smiled broadly, dispelling his doubts. "So that's the reason. A fixed price, five thousand spirit stones."
"F-Five thousand?!" Zhou Qingshi was shocked. But thinking about the book's usefulness, he gritted his teeth and bought it.
The senior brother from the mission hall signaled to someone nearby to note down Zhou Qingshi's name and put him on the suspect list for close observation.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
He sneered, "A Golden Elixir stage cultivator wanting to recognize all the Body Fusion stage cultivators in Great Xia? You think you're Lu Yang?"
...
Lu Yang hadn't walked far when he saw a familiar face. "Palace Master Luo, what are you doing here?"
Luo Hongxia had set up a temporary stall by the roadside, technically an illegal structure, but no one dared to interfere. She sat on a grass mat with a box in front of her.
Luo Hongxia glanced at Lu Yang. "It's Master Lu. I'm fishing."
"Fishing?" Lu Yang was puzzled. There wasn't even water here, so how could she fish?
Luo Hongxia didn't explain and gestured for Lu Yang to sit.
Once seated, Lu Yang heard Luo Hongxia speak slowly, "You must have heard the story 'Legend of the Seek Tao Sect—Lu Yang Chapter.' The stories are detailed and true. I wonder who spread them."
Lu Yang broke into a cold sweat and quickly sold out his master. "It was my master. He used the Sect Master's name to inquire about meeting contents, so I told him about my experiences."
"Hmph, I knew it!" Luo Hongxia sneered, revealing a look of realization.
Just as Lu Yang was about to say more, he saw a familiar face approaching Luo Hongxia. It was the Master of the Xuan Sect.
The Xuan Sect Master saw Luo Hongxia and smirked maliciously. "Daoist Luo, I heard you were beaten by Master Lu. Is that true?"
A Golden Elixir stage defeating a Body Fusion stage was obviously suspicious, but it didn't stop him from mocking Luo Hongxia.
Unfortunately, Qiu Jin'an and Yang Ding weren't around, or they would join in the mockery.
Just as Lu Yang was about to explain, Luo Hongxia waved her hand, signaling him not to.
"It's true. Master Lu can vouch for it."
Luo Hongxia's straightforward admission surprised the Xuan Sect Master.
This reaction wasn't right.
"This involves ancient secrets. If you're interested, I can tell you."
"Ancient secrets?" The Xuan Sect Master was intrigued.
"This place is too crowded. Let's talk inside the box." Luo Hongxia opened the box.
The Xuan Sect Master's eye twitched, recognizing the box. "Isn't this the Light Confining Box from your Moon Laurel Immortal Palace..."
Before he could finish, the box emitted a bright light, sucking him in.
Inside the box, the Xuan Sect Master heard a cold laugh from behind.
"Want to know how we lost to Lu Yang?"
He turned to see Qiu Jin'an and Yang Ding, both grinning maliciously. Master Jie Sha was wiping blood off his fists, looking benevolent.
Qiu Jin'an and Yang Ding pounced on him, and soon, the Xuan Sect Master's screams filled the box.
Lu Yang watched in shock as Luo Hongxia closed the box, swallowing hard.
"This is what I meant by fishing."
What do you think?
