Chapter 104 Strange Thing X Vampire Miss X Calamity Dragon

The strange thing leapt high from the windowsill, quickly blending into the dense dusk.

Soon, it jumped onto the railing of a rooftop, putting on the "Anchor Sunglasses" held in its hand, and the world at twilight grayed further under the filter of the lenses.

The strange thing pressed a button on the right side of the sunglasses, and a map appeared in its view immediately.

"So fast, just a few minutes and she's already at Wine Reflecting Coast... Good thing she stopped there without moving, it will only take me eight minutes to get there from here."

The strange thing raised an eyebrow, muttering to itself.

It had already put on the "Spider Web Shooter" and "Night Walker Belt" in advance, kicked off the railing with both feet, and a white-hot spider web shot out from his wrist, sticking to a huge billboard.

Clutching the web, its figure swung through the flashy neon lights, the generic advertisement slogans drowned out by the whistling wind.

.......

.......

Seven minutes later, Wine Reflecting Coast.

The strange thing, maintaining its invisibility, tiptoed down the stairs from the coast, its hollow gaze peering through the sunglasses toward the beach ahead.

Under the moonlight, a figure was standing on the sand, using a straw to suck from a transparent bag in her hand, as if she were drinking tomato juice.

The strange thing's feet touched down on the sand, kicking up a pebble.

Bai Ziling turned her face, glancing over with her red eyes, catching a glimpse of the coastal stairs from the corner of her eye.

She slowly turned around, back facing the sea, her pale hair fluttering in the sea breeze, turned to the color of moonlight, the right hand behind her clutching a pack of blood bags.

"Why have you been following me?"

Bai Ziling asked softly, tilting her head, her white hair hanging over her shoulder.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The strange thing deactivated the ability of the 'Night Walker Belt' and stopped on the stairs, raising its hands high in a surrender gesture.

"So you noticed me the previous few times... I thought it was just a coincidence that I got away."

"Then why... are you looking for me?"

Bai Ziling's eyes remained fixed on it, one hand behind her back, the other lifting the pale hair at her forehead.

The strange thing slightly lowered its head, lifting its hollow eyes from the sunglasses, introducing itself: "I'm called 'strange thing,' an unemployed vagabond, well... not any more. Now I'm a fugitive on the run, have you seen me on TV?"

"That's not important," Bai Ziling shook her head, her expression blank, "I just want to know, why are you looking for me?"

"I want to make friends with you."

The strange thing took off its sunglasses, slipped off the belt, and tucked it back into its bag.

"I don't need friends."

Bai Ziling said softly, her gaze shifting away from it, glancing towards the sea.

"Why, aren't you lonely?" the strange thing whispered, "Vampires need friends too, just like any living thing needs to form connections with others."

"Actually, I already have a friend... I'm waiting for it."

"Uh... if I may ask, who is this friend of yours?"

The strange thing raised a non-existent eyebrow, wondering if Bai Ziling's friend was another member of the Blood Clan?

Not surprisingly, if there was one Blood Clan member, then there must be others of her kind in the world.

Bai Ziling slightly lifted her red eyes, her gaze calm as she looked at the strange thing, and yet as if she was looking behind it.

"Behind you," she spoke after a moment of silence.

The strange thing paused, slowly lowering the hands it had held high, pointing at its chest while muttering to itself.

"Uh... behind me?"

Bai Ziling gazed intently at it from a distance, gently nodding her head after a while, staying silent.

The next moment, the strange thing suddenly heard an odd gasping sound coming from behind it, like a primal beast, the gasping getting closer and closer, seemingly expanding into a tangible oppression that enveloped the strange thing's shadow, presenting a surreally chaotic, dark red hue.

"Yo, ran into you again," a raspy voice came from behind, "strange thing..."

The strange thing, hearing the noises from behind, slowly turned its face, its peripheral vision meeting the furious gaze of the young dragon, fearlessly curling its lips upward.

"I didn't expect to run into you here, little dragon."

It paused, lowered its face, and spoke solemnly: "It's really fate... isn't it?"

At that moment, in the bedroom, Ke Mingye was already drenched in sweat. He breathed deeply, the cold air striking his lungs like a sharp sword.

"Indeed, does Zi Ling know the elementary school student?"

Ke Mingye murmured to himself, flipping through a comic book while organizing the clues in his mind.

"From the images transmitted via the brain imaging helmet at the cinema, it's evident that the elementary school student likely knows Bai Ziling's hidden identity."

"Zi Ling has also met Ke Yongzhu after his transformation into a dragon at least once. Otherwise, the images she conjured up at that time couldn't possibly resemble the appearance of the dragon of calamity so closely."

"Ah... trying to find Zi Ling alone is still too difficult, I should have thought that I might run into the elementary school student."

At that moment, Bai Ziling took off her sandals, walked barefoot on the beach carelessly, her white hair floating in the sea breeze.

"It seems..." she said softly, "it doesn't agree with me being your friend."

The strange thing hesitated in place, afraid that taking one more step would result in the dragon behind it twisting its head off, which would be so embarrassing.

So, it spread its hands and turned back to Bai Ziling, asking, "Why do I need its permission to be your friend, are you conjoined twins or something?"

The dragon of calamity's eyebrows curved, and its pupils slightly narrowed, the crimson-gold light in its eyes as dazzling as magma. It breathed heavily, the air exhaling from its nostrils and mouth mingled with fine flames. Its cold, sharp fangs appeared and disappeared, as if struggling to suppress its rage.

The dragon stared at the strange thing, and after a long pause, it asked each word deliberately, "Why, why do you want to get close to her?"

"You ask me why, well, of course, it's to make friends."

"Friends?"

"Yes, just like how I am friends with you," the strange thing pondered, muttering to itself, "Right, logically speaking... since I am friends with you, then a friend's friend should also be my friend, so this lovely vampire should technically be my friend, right?"

Bai Ziling raised her eyebrows, lifted her gaze from her white hair strands, and asked curiously.

"Is that so, you guys are friends?"

"Yes," the strange thing said as it moved back two steps, coming beside the dragon of calamity, and unilaterally slung an arm around it, "We are friends indeed."

It said earnestly, then vigorously patted the dragon of calamity's shoulder, "Super, super good friends, so good I could use my head as a ball for it to play with, or sometimes we'd hang out, just going for a Panda hotpot meal."

Bai Ziling blinked, "Panda hotpot?"

The strange thing nodded vigorously, "Yeah, we often gather together for Panda hotpot, it loves it. Just the sight of pandas makes it drool non-stop..."

"Shut up—!"

The dragon of calamity angrily growled, a flame burst forth from the depths of its bloodthroat, and in an instant, it burned the right hand of the strange thing that was resting on its shoulder.

"Huff! Huff! Huff!"

The strange thing bowed its head, blowing hard on its right arm, trying to extinguish the flames. Finally, it sighed, forcibly tore off its own right arm, and casually threw it onto the beach.

It was better than letting the flames spread to its whole body, which would be more loss than gain.

"I'll ask you one last time... why do you want to get close to her?"

The dragon's eyes hid in the shadow of its brow ridges, its voice hoarse and gloomy.

The strange thing turned its face slightly, silently looked at it for a moment, and said unhurriedly, "It's to remind her of something that will happen tomorrow."

"What is it?" Bai Ziling asked. Her voice was emotionless.

"It's..."

Just as the strange thing was about to speak, the dragon of calamity beside it rudely interrupted: "Don't listen to this guy, it's always spouting nonsense, last time it even claimed to be Conan Doyle. I'll just deal with it now, make it shut up..."

As it spoke, it had already raised its sharp claws, reaching toward the strange thing's head.

Bai Ziling shook her head, "No, I would like to hear what it has to say, could you be quiet for a moment?"

The dragon of calamity paused, opened its mouth as if to say something, then slowly lowered its red eyes, retracted its claws, and crouched like a cat on the sand.

"Okay..." it swallowed, speaking in a hoarse voice.

The strange thing slightly grinned, reaching out to rub the dragon of calamity's head, "There you go, baby dragon, you can't be so rough with friends." Your next read is at empire

"Get lost." The dragon of calamity slapped its hand away.

In the moonlight, the light flickering in Bai Ziling's eyes was as dazzling as gemstones. She lifted her gaze from her sandy feet, staring motionlessly at the strange thing, softly asking.

"So... what were you about to say?"

"It's something very important."

The strange thing met her gaze, raised a finger, and slowly said.

"Important thing?"

The strange thing nodded, its tone taking on a touch of jest: "Yes, and about our good friend baby dragon as well, but actually..." It paused, slowly lowered its gaze, looking at the dragon crouched on the ground, "this matter, it's aimed directly at it."
