Puffer then said, "If you give me a few more samples and some other materials, I might be able to go faster."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

She revealed a faint smile that had a trace of greed in it as she said this.

From these past few days, I had learned quite a bit about Puffer.

I already knew a few things about her from the game, but that wasn't everything.

Puffer was now a real living mermaid, so there were parts of her personality that weren't in the game.

In the game, she was just a character that was designed to do certain things.

In this world, she was a living being that had her own thoughts and choices.

So there was a lot to learn about her.

The most important thing that I learned about Puffer was just how devoted she was to her research. And by that, it was better to say that she was devoted to the things that caught her interest.

If there was something that interested her, she would forget about everything else as she focused on studying it.

This was a good thing for Ariel who had been following Puffer during this time.

From observing her experiments, Ariel had already learned quite a bit about the magic that sea witches used and was even getting close to being able to use it herself.

I'm sure that this wasn't what the Merman King and Merman Queen wanted from sending them here, but there was nothing that I could do about it. This was something that Ariel wanted to do, so it would be hard to stop her even if I wanted to.

Still, since the thing that Puffer was researching was something that was useful to us, it wasn't a bad idea to give her more resources.

"A delegation from the four empires have arrived!"

Before I could say anything else, there was a soldier that ran in to announce this.

I was completely caught off guard when I heard this.

I looked at the soldier as if I was trying to confirm that I heard this correctly, but he just had the same grim look on his face. So I waved my hand for him to come over and show me the report.

After taking it, I had the same grim look as the soldier as I asked, "Why are they suddenly coming to our kingdom?"

The soldier shook his head with a helpless look.

If he knew the answer to this, then he wouldn't be here reporting this matter.

I also knew what he was thinking, so I just waved my hand at him and said, "Go and tell them to prepare. I'll be over in a bit."

The soldier quickly nodded and gave a salute before running away.

The others that were still in the room with me looked at me with different expressions on

their faces, but I just waved my hand at them and said, "Let me be alone for a bit to gather my thoughts. I'll be there in a bit."

They all nodded in agreement before leaving me alone in this room.

Why?

Why were the four empires suddenly sending delegations here?

That was a question that I wanted to ask myself, but really I already knew the answer.

The fight against the detached demon army had attracted just too much attention to our Kite Kingdom, so I knew that the reason that they were coming was for the same reason that Chris tried to urge me to do something.

They were here to get the things that we had that could deal with the demons that had corrupted energy in them.

The Holy Empire and the Tide Empire were two that I already had contact with, but the other two human empires were empires that I had never had any contact with before.

The Kite Kingdom was just too small to be noticed by these empires previously.

The third human empire was the Sorcery Empire.

As the name suggested, this was an empire that was filled with magicians.

It was a place that was considered the holy land for those that wanted to master magic. At the same time, it was the place that restricted many normal people from learning magic since they said that it was a dangerous thing.

Though in reality, they just wanted to keep magic spells to themselves so that no one could threaten them.

The Sorcery Empire was ruled over by nine different magic towers and the tower masters of these nine different towers were known as the Nine Sages. They were the council that made all the decisions in the Sorcery Empire.

Naturally they also had the power to back this since anyone that could become a sage was one of the greatest magicians in the human race.

Though for me, it was strange that they were relying on relics to deal with the demons.

Since they were an empire based on magic, they didn't really believe in religion.

They didn't use the power of gods, they used the power of their own magic to deal with their enemies.

The fourth empire was the Democratic Union.

They were a group of technologically advanced humans that used the power of technology to overwhelm their enemies.

Though they called themselves a democracy, it was better to say that they were a military state since those that were in control of the army were the ones that were in control of the

government.

Though they still held elections to put these people in positions of power.

It was completely rigged since the people were forced to vote for those that controlled the

military.

These people also didn't believe in the power of gods and religion, so they relied heavily on their technology instead.

It was strange that they would suddenly send delegations to our Kite Kingdom.

But it seemed that the situation must be bad, that they were relying on the power of the gods

to take care of their enemies.

To them, they were willing to try anything that worked.
