She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 706 Spilling the Secrets

After the matter was settled, and after Ariel got the thanks that she deserved from the King for saving his son's precious life, they all sat down together for dinner and went to their rooms.

Ariel was extremely exhausted after everything that happened in a single day. She came third in the horse race, got terrorized by a possible family member from her dad's side, roamed the town, had her first kisses, saved two idiots who loved her, met her parents, and whatnot.

So, all she wanted after dinner was a long and good night's sleep. And after saying goodnight to everyone, she went to her room and immediately lay down on the bed.

Ramon, Niylah, and Zach also decided to sleep early since none of them had had proper sleep yesterday. And they also needed to restore their energies after everything that happened later during the dusk.

Damien and Kenneth were the last ones standing in the common room. They gave an awkward gaze to each other.

Damien gave a nod to Kenneth and was about to enter his room when Kenneth called him.

"Damien." Kenneth walked towards Damien.

The demon turned to look at the hybrid and waited for him to say whatever he wanted to say.

Kenneth cleared his throat and then said, "I provoked you to fight me because my judgment was clouded by my jealousy. And in my jealousy, I ended up thinking that maybe I could take you down. But I was so wrong. I wanted to hurt you, but instead, I ended up hurting Ariel and giving her trouble. And I don't want to repeat today's incident anymore."

Damien looked at Kenneth's crystal red and asked in a monotone, "So… are you apologizing to me or what are you getting at?"

Kenneth also looked Damien in the eyes. And he asked Damien, "Why don't we both stop trying to win Ariel over while we are on this trip? We are making things difficult for her as well as everyone else."

"Are you suggesting that we enter a truce?" Damien slightly raised one of his brows at Kenneth.

Kenneth shrugged and replied, "You can call it a truce. From what I've observed, we both love her. And I think she… admires us both. We will only make it harder for her if we play tug-of-war with her. So, why don't we let her cool her mind and think this through?"

Damien nodded without even thinking for a second. If Kenneth wouldn't try to kiss Ariel every now and then, then he would also gladly keep his hands off Ariel until she chose one of them.

"It's fine by me. I don't think Ariel got to tell you this, but she told me that she needed some time to sort out her emotions. So, yeah. Let's keep our hands away from her." Damien narrowed his eyes a little and also added, "And lips as well. If I find you kissing her again then I will pull out your tongue and feed it to the demons."

Kenneth rolled his eyes at Damien and scoffed. "And the same goes for you as well. If I catch you kissing her then I will let my wolf devour you whole."

"Pff… as if you can eat a demon," Damien laughed at that absurd threat from Kenneth.

Kenneth pulled the corner of his upper lip in disdain. He turned around and walked away while saying, "I don't want to know your taste, so you better keep your word."

Kenneth suddenly stopped on his track and turned around to ask Damien, "Hey, what are those red beads around your waist, by the way? Is that some kind of jewelry or something else?"

"Why?" Damien suspiciously narrowed his eyes at Kenneth.

And Kenneth replied as the curiosity lingered over his face, "I simply wanted to know more about you. You're the first demon I have met. So, I am curious to learn more."

Damien looked down at those red explosives and answered, "These are… blood containers."

"Ah!" Kenneth nodded his head. "So those are your stocks of blood for when you get hungry? That's a nice way to carry them around. It's convenient but I wouldn't ever carry those around like some jewelry."

Damien furrowed his brows and asked, "Who said that these are for when I get hungry?"

Kenneth slightly shrugged and said, "Um… because you're a half-vampire and you need to drink blood?"

Damien chuckled and then boasted, "I don't need to drink blood like you, Kenny. I lived in a place that is devoid of living humans, remember?"

"Oh, right!" Kenneth pointed at those beads again and asked, "So, why do you wear them then? And whose blood does it contain? I hope they're not trophies of the demons that you've killed or something sick like that?"

Damien scoffed in disbelief when Kenneth said that. "Shut your mouth, you arse! These are the blood from my willing donors. And some of these are my own blood."

Kenneth wrinkled his nose and asked, "Your own blood? That sounds even weirder."

Damien folded his arms over his chest and then shouted, "Will you stop assuming things on your own? I can do blood magic. So these are clearly my weapons. I carry them around so that I can use them to blast my enemies if push comes to shove."

"Whoa!" Kenneth was impressed by Damien's ability rather than being scared as he should be. "Blood magic, huh? You can make the blood explode?"

Damien suddenly pressed his lips together after realizing what he had just done. He regretted getting all hyped up and spilling his secrets to his competitor. But now that Kenneth already knew, there was no point in denying or hiding it.

Damien puffed his chest and boastfully said, "Well yeah, I can make blood explode. So don't mess with me or try to fight me again. If I get serious, you won't even last half a second in front of me."

Kenneth gave a nod. Rather than being intimidated, he got even more curious. "So does that mean every creature with blood coursing through their veins is walking explosives for you? You can blast them into pieces?"

Damien snickered at that silly question of Kenneth. "Don't think so highly of me. I can't control the blood that flows inside of the bodies."

"That's good to know," Kenneth smiled after extracting that crucial information from Damien.

But before he could run away, Damien also asked, "I revealed a secret about me. So why don't you say how you were able to make me unconscious? Prince Theodore mentioned something about poison."

It was already an open secret among the Royals from Wyverndale. So Kenneth didn't see the point in hiding it because Ramon would happily spill all the secrets to Damien if he asked. "I can secrete toxins from my fangs and my claws. They are deadly poisonous to humans. They will die within a few days if they don't get an antidote."

Kenneth also further added, "But Ariel only feels the effect for a few minutes. So I am guessing that would have been the case for you as well if I hadn't directly wounded your heart."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Damien finally understood the reason why he had fainted earlier. He nodded his head.

But suddenly, he frowned at Kenneth. He rushed and grabbed Kenneth by his collar, and he asked in a stern voice, "You had also poisoned Ariel? When? Why would you even do that to the woman you say you love?"
