Jack always acted like he was superior to others, which was true, considering that his father was one of the richest businessmen in the city, and he himself was good at sports and academics, always achieving high scores. But the problem was that his attitude and the way he acted made most people stay away from him, except for this particular group of friends, who were the closest thing to him, which was why when Lucifer threatened their friend and assaulted him like that, he couldn't control himself anymore.

"Fucking asshole... Do you think you can do whatever you want here without any consequences?!" He continued, raising his fist to attack Lucifer, who had his back toward him and wasn't paying attention to what was happening behind him.

But before he could throw his punch, Layla grabbed hold of his arm and stopped him from attacking Lucifer. She looked at him with an expression full of rage. "What the fuck are you doing, Jack?! Do you also want to end up on the ground like Ethan?"

Jack tried to shake off her grip, but she was surprisingly stronger than him, so he failed to break free. Instead, he turned to face her and shouted, "What are you talking about? Didn't you see he was assaulting Ethan just now?! And he even threatened to feed him to the sharks!"

"Yes, I saw how Ethan insulted my mother very well. So, don't try to defend him, because what Lucifer did was right, and if he didn't, then I would have beaten Ethan myself for what he did. Now back off before I lose my patience with you too." Layla snapped at Jack, surprising everyone who was watching, as they never saw Layla get angry like this.

Jack looked at Layla with disbelief in his eyes; he was stunned at what just happened, but then he remembered who he was talking with, so he decided not to argue with her any further and turned to face the others before pointing his finger toward Lucifer, "That's why I said we shouldn't have allowed this guy to come with us. After saying that, Jack stormed away from the upper deck, going downstairs to cool off, leaving the rest of the group behind. Seeing him act like this, Nathan sighed and went to follow his best friend, hoping that he could calm him down and avoid any more conflicts from happening between them.

Meanwhile, James looked at Ethan, who was finally regaining his senses. He then helped his friend get to his feet. After that, he turned to Lucifer and said in a low voice, "Look... What you did to him was wrong. I'm not going to deny that he was at fault too for provoking you. But you didn't have to assault him like that either. You could have just warned him instead of choking him out and throwing threats like you did. That wasn't right."

Lucifer raised his eyebrow as he looked at the handsome, brown-haired man standing in front of him, and then an eerie smile crept up on his face. "Oh? Do you think what I did to your friend was overkill?"

"Yes! You went too far with what you did to him! You almost choked him to death. Do you realize how serious that is?!" James exclaimed. His anger was evident in his tone, which made Eva worry that he might end up in the same state as Ethan. So, she placed her hand on his shoulder, signaling him to calm down.

"James, stop it," she whispered, giving him a worried look. "I know Lucifer; trust me, and I can assure you that if Layla hadn't stepped in to stop him, things would've ended far worse than what happened. So don't provoke him any more, please. I beg of you."

After saying that, she glanced over at Layla and noticed her cousin had already started dragging Lucifer away by the arm to prevent further problems from arising between the guys and her brother, which was the best option right now, considering how things were going at the moment.

Eva didn't want any of the guys to get hurt because of something stupid that happened between them. And the best way to prevent that from happening would be to keep them away from each other until everyone cools off and things settle down.

"Lucifer, let's get inside the jacuzzi and relax a bit. I don't want to waste more time dealing with these guys." Layla said while pulling Lucifer toward the stairs, motioning to Madison to follow along with them, "Maddie, join us. Let's enjoy our time and leave the others to sort this mess out themselves."

Madison was hesitant, not knowing whether it was a good idea to join the two siblings, but she couldn't help feeling excited about spending more time with Lucifer, especially after witnessing what happened to Ethan when he acted out against Lucifer. So, in the end, she decided to follow Layla and Lucifer to the jacuzzi, leaving her friends behind.

When the three of them were out of sight, James looked at Eva and asked, "Eva, why did you stop me? And how can you be so sure that he would have hurt Ethan even worse than that?" Stay tuned with empire

Eva looked at him and sighed. She didn't know how to explain the situation since she herself didn't understand why she felt that way. But one thing was for sure: the way Lucifer looked at Ethan when he choked him wasn't normal. It was almost as if he was about to snap his neck right then and there. So she answered, "That is not important. The important thing here is that you guys were the ones who provoked him first and made things escalate like this. So, in a way, you brought this upon yourselves."

After saying that, Eva walked past James and Ethan and went to the stairs to follow her cousins.
