Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 85 The sacrifice... (2/3)

Lucas wanted to shout, the pain had still not reached his receptors but he had realized that his leg was completely deformed with the hip that had made a crack sound.

Before Lucas could do anything, his head bashed right in the flesh with such force that he got knocked out that instant.

The undead looked at its stomach which was now healed and then at Lucas who was about 15 meters away from it.

The force by which it had hit Lucas was too immense making Lucas lucky that he was alive after getting hit head-on by such a beast.

The undead started trying to get up which was like seeing a toddler struggle to take its first step.

While everyone just thought silently from the sidelines about what they could contribute in such a fight. The undead got up completely after taking its leisure time of five minutes.

Its gaze had not left Lucas who was unconscious on the fleshy floor with his head deep inside a crevice.

"This is just like the first time... just like the first time... like the first time... HUFF..." Sarah had made a big ball of fire in her hand and started adding mana to it with desperation.

The undead didn't seem to get close to Lucas anytime soon but it was taking baby steps and reaching its goal with every second.

SHOOM!

PUCHI!

The undead jerked its body a little and did not care that there was an arrow in its head. John just clicked his tongue and went to the side from where he could see the face of the undead.

John made yet another icicle within seconds and after taking some time, he shot another arrow with the hope to hit it accurately.

SHOOM!

PUCHI!

This time around, the undead stopped for a while but started marching again toward Lucas's limp body. One of its eyes was already burst by John's icicle that didn't seem to get out anytime soon.

John was in a dilemma, no matter how many arrows he would shoot, the undead won't even bat an eye. Clearly, it didn't feel any pain and was void of emotions other than the command of just infecting the living and making them one of its own.

BAM!!n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Yet this time around, Sarah had finally steeled her nerves and shot a fireball the size of a car tire. It even took some seconds to reach the damn bastard but Sarah's accuracy was bearable.

Stay tuned to empire

The lucky position she was in was also one of the factors for the fireball to hit right at the head.

The undead didn't mind the jerk he had in his hand that made it stumble and didn't change his direction. He didn't seem to care about the sizzling flesh of the head with some parts that were on fire.

"H-How do I stop it?!"

John, still observing from the sidelines, knew they needed a plan and fast. He quickly assessed the situation, realizing that conventional attacks were proving ineffective against the undead's resilience. He racked his brain, searching for a solution that could give them an advantage.

Soon, he came to know that they had been too much dependent on Jimmy and Lucas, to the point that without them, he didn't see much hope in their survival.

But not surviving was out of the question, John had not risked his family's life just so that could die this painful death. He still couldn't configure how much Lucas was in agony, they had all heard the cracking sound from the lower half of Lucas, and the leg that was touching his shoulder while he was unconscious didn't help much.

John looked at the whole group with a frown, they had so many people and yet still they couldn't kill the damn thing.

'We can do something if not nothing...' John thought, determination sparking within him. He turned to the group, his eyes scanning each face, searching for the same determination he felt within himself.

"Listen up, everyone!" John called out, his voice filled with urgency. "We may be facing an unbeatable enemy, but that doesn't mean we give up. We fight with everything we've got!"

The group members, previously silent and uncertain, looked at John, their expressions shifting from doubt to a glimmer of hope.

The human mind was such a strange thing, with such a small chance of victory that each and everyone knew about, there was still a speck of hope in everyone's eyes desperately looking at John to continue and give them the orders so that they could do something.

The peaceful era had made them all so dependent on getting orders from up, fulfilling them and that's it... that they had stopped using their brains out of the box a long time ago. It hindered their abilities to become potential leaders.

They had relied heavily on Lucas and Jimmy's strength, but now it was up to them to make a stand.

"Sarah! Try to blast its knees, the more time we get, the better!" John shouted which made Sarah nod.

"Mike! Do the same! Ella come here quick! Sean, give them your skill's buff quick!"

One after another, John gave everyone an order to fulfill making them busy in doing them.

Sarah was very impressed seeing that in such a tense situation, John had come up with such a great plan spontaneously making her envious of his brain.

She made a big fireball again and shot it at the left knee of the undead.

The undead as usual didn't care until the knee broke making it fall on his other knee.

Mike saw this opportunity and shot five consecutive fire bullets the size of a sniper bullet at the undead's head.

The surface area of the bullets was so small and the rate at which they traveled was not bad, that the bullets entered the skull making holes in the brain for the first time.

The undead's eyes gave up when the brain was damaged, its neck went down with a thud sound but it did not stop it to get its consciousness back in 15 seconds.

The process repeated for many minutes, the undead died and got back again all the time and it seemed to be the same as before.

But it could not be said about humans, the mana was only finite with everyone, and with each skill used, it only decreased not increased.

There came a time that Sarah had sweat coming off her head as if she had run a 10k sprint in a short time. It was the same as the first time when she was the sole person with him.

Her eyes started to close and soon, she had to grit her teeth and slap herself a few times in order to stay awake.

The undead had not changed his course even after being taken care of so many times as if it was obsessed with Lucas.

All this time, Ella was with John who was in turn with Lucas. The undead was far away, about 9 meters which was about 3 minutes far if considered its normal speed.

Ella was healing Lucas all this time and had a pale expression, Lucas's state was worse than she expected. With her healing proficiency getting better with each healing.

She was also getting sensitive about the pain levels and the type of wounds one could get. Lucas had his whole hip bone twisted and she knew it could not be healed even with her skill if the leg was not straightened by them.

With John's help, she had already flipped Lucas's whole leg but it was still stuck with his feet touching the shoulder.

The sight could make the weak-hearted runoff or get unconscious. Ella with a forced will, had to push the leg back down which made some crackling sounds as if there were many small bones broken too.

All this time, when they were trying to stop the undead and heal Lucas respectively, something different altogether was happening to Jimmy.

Jerry could not believe his eyes when he saw Jimmy in such a state but his worry changed to fear with each passing moment.

Everything was normal at first, Jimmy was unconscious and Jerry was trying to wake him up.

But then he heard a pop sound from Jimmy's broken shoulder. It felt strange but he let it go. The next thing was even more unseemly.

Jimmy's red bloated forehead started to get normal as if nothing happened in the first place and in front of Jerry's naked eyes.

Soon, Jimmy was able to open his eyes and something very wrong was happening within them. Jimmy's eyelids twitched various times untimely which made it looked like as if a doll was broken and it was twitching its each eye at different times and intervals.

"What the hell...?" Jerry spoke with a face without color.

Jimmy's lifeless-looking eyes moved to stare at Jerry which made a chill run done his spine. BUt before he could do anything and come to a conclusion.

"Ugh!!" Jimmy grunted and his eyes became normal again.
