Chapter 368 Filial Grandaughter
"Kicking your own grandfather, what kind of young lady does that?" Ming Ye was surprised to hear a voice coming from before him and noticed the kick was stopped in the middle of the tracks.
He could not believe that Xin Yan was standing behind his granddaughter, holding her foot that was covered with her qi without any change in her expression.
He was certain that she was not using her qi or law to protect her skin from the attack. The very thought of blocking such a potent energy with her bare hands shocked him out of his senses.
Ruo'er, who was dangling in the air by her feet, suddenly felt lost and looked at Xin Yan's face.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Seeing the scary smile on her face, she trembled in fear before dispersing her qi. She was not as shocked as her grandfather, as she was not aware of the potency of her own qi.
*Thud!*
Xin Yan mercilessly released the hold on her feet, causing her to fall to the ground.
"Go freshen up; I will start preparing for dinner soon, and I want you there on time." With a final glare, Xin Yan turned around and left the area.
Ruo'er kept looking at her back with an entranced look in her eyes.
"What are you thinking?" Ming Ye asked with a curious look on his face. Ruo'er turned to him before asking, "Is this what it feels like to have a mother?"
Hearing the innocent question of his granddaughter, Ming Ye's heart shook as a strained smile appeared on his face, recalling the cold look on Ruo'er's parents the day he left the clan with her.
"Maybe." Raising his head towards the mansion, he replied softly. Ruo'er also followed his gaze as a smile appeared on her face. 'It feels warm,' she thought, placing her hand over her heart.
"Let's go back then. We don't want to get scolded again." The old man smiled at his granddaughter as she moved to get up. With a nod, the two of them made their way back.

*Clang!*
The gates of the dining hall opened as Ruo'er entered the room to a scene of Noah sitting on the table, talking to her grandfather.
They both turned to look at her, hearing the sound of the door opening. She nodded at them and took a seat beside her grandfather.
"Where is Uncle Wuhan?" She asked with a confused look, not being able to find Wuhan on the table.
"He is in the capital dealing with the… paperwork," Noah replied with a twitch on his lips.
"You can tell me if he's cleaning up the spies in the kingdom; I can understand it," Ruo'er spoke up with a huff, a little annoyed, thinking Noah was treating her like a little girl.
"Pfft! If only…" Noah chuckled lightly, trying to contain his laughter. "The only things he is slaughtering right now are the paperwork."
Ruo'er frowned, seeing Noah smile. She felt that he was telling the truth even though she did not know how he knew that in the first place.
"So what do you plan to do now?" Ming Ye asked, looking at Noah. "Are you going to keep on cultivating until something big happens or have some real fights out in the world and make a name for yourself?"
Noah stopped and turned to look at the old man before smiling slightly. "Making a name deliberately sounds pitiful. Why would I waste my time doing something as pitiful as that? I can fight the beasts in the wilderness around us."
Both Ming Ye and Ruo'er were stunned, upon hearing his words.
"That is for the times I want to increase my fighting proficiency. As for other times, I am sure the world is about to stir soon. Things won't be as calm as they are now."
Ming Ye rubbed his chin, pondering Noah's words.
"Is it that cult?" Ruo'er asked with a cold light flashing in her eyes. Noah shook his head, hearing her words, before replying.
"In a sense, it would be, but at the same time, it won't be. There are many problems in the world aside from just one maniac organization."
"Indeed, the world is very vast, and everyone has their own ambitions. Not everything can be resolved calmly," Ming Ye sighed.
"The food is ready; you three can talk later." Before Ruo'er could ask anything else, Xin Yan entered the room and placed all kinds of food on the table with the help of her storage ring.
Walking across the table, she took a seat beside Noah.
"This…" Taking the first bite of the food, Ruo'er could not even speak properly before her hand took the second bite by itself.
Ming Ye was not any different. This was the first time they had eaten Xin Yan's cooking, and they could not believe that it tasted so good.
"You are getting better." Noah took a bite of the chicken on the table and complimented it after savoring the taste slowly.
Xin Yan did not even bother to stop the silly smile from appearing on her face, as the other two were too busy eating the food to look at her.
"The food…" Ruo'er reached out for more food on her plate and noticed the food was nowhere to be seen. She turned to look at her grandfather and saw that he was looking around with a similar expression.
"There is still more; you can eat slowly." Xin Yan chuckled, seeing the look of rivalry in their eyes.
While they were having their battle over the food, Wuhan was facing his own battle.
"Why did I send the minister to rest?" Wuhan almost screamed out loud, seeing the pile of work that was still left on his table to complete.
"Just when will this end!" Wuhan relaxed his back against the chair. "I wonder how my disciples are. Liu's should be fine, right?"
Feeling a little lonely and lazy, Wuhan brought out a talisman and decided to contact his disciple. He seemed to have forgotten that he had two other disciples as well.
He channeled his qi through the talisman, and it glowed with a golden light…
