Chapter 363 Ruo'er Thrist For Power!

"I feel what you told me was just an appetizer; the real attack should be coming soon in the near future."

Noah's words were followed by a moment of silence, making everyone think of the future with a grave look on their faces.

"Even though I have said that, I don't think they will be attacking us anytime soon. It could be as long as a couple of years from now on." Seeing the dark look on their faces, Noah waved his hand with a smile on his face.

Wuhan raised his head and looked at Noah to confirm if what he heard was right or not. Seeing the smile on his face, he sighed in annoyance. Even though his words scared them, they gave them the time to act on this information and prepare for the invasion.

"We have time to prepare; that is our advantage." Ming Ye also had the same thoughts as Wuhan. "We should use everything we have from here on out for the worse."

Wuhan nodded and slumped back into the chair; the heaviness of the safety of the humans of the empire seemed to be catching up to him. Looking at the ceiling of the room, he uttered. "But the question is where should we start."

Noah sighed, fully knowing Wuhan's responsibilities. But this also showed how good of an Emperor he had the potential to be. 'All that he needs is the right motivation.'

"You should start with the people under you. Look for all the possible rebels and traitors that could be hiding in the empire." Noah's words caught Wuhan's attention, making him look at him. "You have to make sure that when we will be facing the enemies from the outside there is no one to stab us in the back."

A glint of cold light flashed through Wuhan's eyes as he nodded. The one thing he hated the most was traitors and the people who stabbed their friends in the back.

"Also, train all of your trusted guards to be able to fight our future enemy."

"You don't want me to train the whole army for them?" Wuhan asked with a confused look on his face.

"If you prepare the whole army, the enemy would start to get suspicious. I will help you check your hidden guards and see if they are compromised or not. You can train them afterward." Noah shook his head, declining Wuhan's thoughts, and replied.

"Wouldn't that mean they can turn our army against us?" Wuhan retorted with a frown on his face.

"No, there is a limit to how many people a single person can control and several other conditions too, that is why they are slowly and carefully selecting their forces. If that wasn't the case they would have already taken over the world by controlling all the emperors and have them do their deed."

A sense of calm dawned in the room with Noah's revelation. They sighed in relief knowing that they still had the chance to fight back against their enemies.

"No matter what path you will take from now on, there will be casualties and you will have to live with that." Noah walked up from his seat and looked at Wuhan without offering any kind of comforting words.

He knew he had to be cold and ruthless with his words to let the man face the reality of what it meant to be an emperor.

"It is up to you if you want that number to be as low as possible or…" Without saying anything further Noah turned to look at the rest of the people in the room before continuing, "That is all I wanted to say for now. I will continue my training now; you all should prepare as well."

Saying those words, Noah turned and walked out of the room. Xin Yan was the second person to leave the room followed by Ming Ye and his granddaughter.

Wuhan was left alone in the room to his thoughts. He looked down at his feet with his hands clenched on the arms of the chair.

*Cracks!*

Cracks started to appear on the armrest as his grip got tighter.

'It is up to you if you want that number to be as low as possible or…' Noah's words echoed in his mind until he reached a decision.

"I need to see him." With an emotionless look on his face, Wuhan got up from his seat and walked out of the room.

*Woosh!*

From a distance, seeing Wuhan leaving the mountain on his flying artifact, Noah smiled before walking towards the open area of the sect.

Back inside the mansion, Ruo'er stood in front of her grandfather with determination and resolution etched on her face.

"Have you thought this through?" Ming Ye asked sharply. His eyes did not have the old trace of love and warmth of a grandfather but the rationality and calmness of a leader.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"The pain you will experience would make all the pain you have experienced till now seem like a middle poking your finger."

"If it means that I will be able to get stronger, then I don't mind the pain and hard work. Besides, the pain of losing brother Tian would always be the most excruciating pain I can ever feel." She replied with her head lowered.

"Ruo'er, no matter how weak you are, remember one thing, never lose yourself in the search for power." Ming Ye sighed hearing the words of his granddaughter and reprimanded her, "If you don't have power you may lose one thing or another but if you lose yourself to power that means you will definitely lose more than one thing you hold dear."

Ming Ye's words, though sounded complicated, shook Ruo'er's heart. She nodded in understanding and etched the words he said in his mind.

While Ruo'er was preparing to get stronger, Xin Yan did not sit still as well; she decided to raise her strength as well.

"You want to raise the level of your body?" Noah was surprised to be suddenly approached by Xin Yan with this topic.
