Chapter 195 Florida Man Introduces Democracy to Medieval Knights and Monster Girls by Exhibiting His Personal Gun
Two weeks later...
DING!
<You have completed Main Quest #13!>
<Your level limit has increased!>
Felix stood at the Fate Plaza, surveying the battalions assembled before him. His system had just informed him that he had completed a major milestone, unlocking his level cap and earning a coveted system upgrade.
The gathered forces were an impressive sight. Diana, Jiji, Zen, 200 elite Lamia warriors, and 200 top-tier paladins from Eleanor Church City stood at attention.
It was the first time the combined might of these factions had convened in one place. Felix had summoned them here not for battle but to unveil a groundbreaking new standard in training and weaponry.
At the forefront, Felix was absorbed in his system interface, rapidly scrolling through the options in his "Arsenal of Freedom" feature.
So far, Felix hadn't touched this feature for a long time due to the lack of necessity. But now, it would be useful.
At Class F, Felix could only created the first world war's weapons. Class E unlocked the second World War weaponries. Class D offered Vietnam War's technologies while Class C added modern weapons.
As for Class B, Felix could access futuristic energy-based weaponries. But for now, he needed to lay the foundation of his army first.
Moments later, his grin widened as he made his selection. With a flourish, 400 rifles materialized in neat stacks before the crowd. FN SCAR 17S represented modern weapons, originally designed for the US military.
However, Felix withheld the ammunition, recognizing the need to first educate them on the weapon's intricacies.
As the soldiers and warriors approached the unfamiliar rifles, they examined them with a mix of curiosity and confusion. Zen picked up one of the weapons, inspecting it with furrowed brows.
In her hands, the rifle seemed more like an elaborate club than a piece of advanced technology. She turned it around, peered into the muzzle, and pointed it toward her face.
Felix's eye twitched, barely concealing his exasperation. Clearing his throat, he addressed the crowd.
"These are called boomsticks," he announced with a grin and warned everybody. "And don't point it toward your friends or yourself, Jesus Christ!"
"Boomsticks?" Zen repeated, tilting her head.
Felix held up his own rifle, inserting a live round into the magazine with practiced ease. Taking aim at a chainmail-clad scarecrow positioned 100 meters away, he pulled the trigger.
BANG!
The rifle roared, and the bullet punched a hole through the chainmail, dead center. Felix calmly ejected the magazine, checked the chamber, and turned back to his audience.
"These boomsticks are your new standard-issue weapons. You'll master their use, learn how to clean and maintain them, and become proficient in disassembling and reassembling them within two weeks," he declared.
"Eh?!" The crowd murmured in unison. Their expressions ranged from disbelief to skepticism.
One of the paladins, a black-haired warrior with newly darkened features thanks to her black tortoise meat diet, raised her hand.
"Sir, isn't this weapon... underwhelming? We're all 5-star knights and 5th-circle mages. We could easily create the same kind of damage with just a flick of our fingers."
Zen and the others nodded in agreement. Even Zen, holding her rifle, couldn't help but share their doubts.
Felix remained unfazed. "Weak? That's because you've only seen its basic form that we'll use for practicing. The real ones are something else. Watch this."
He switched weapon and pulled out a mana-piercing round, slotting it into a specially enchanted version of the rifle. Turning to Zen, he issued a challenge.
"Zen, can you be my target for a moment? Use every defense you can muster, blessings, barriers, shields, you name it. Create an earth wall if you want. I'll shoot at you, but don't worry. The bullet will miss your body."
The crowd gasped, unsure whether Felix was testing his weapon or Zen's pride.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Understood," Zen replied, stepping to the side and preparing her defenses.
She cast layer upon layer of defensive magic. A golden radiance surrounded her as 72 magic circuits materialized, forming a barrier so dense it shimmered in the sunlight. In front of her, three layers of enchanted earth walls rose from the ground.
"My lord, these shield spells were gifted to me through the Goddess' whispers. They're designed to withstand even a full-strength strike from a 9-star aura knight or a 9th-circle mage once. I believe this should suffice," she reported confidently.
The paladins cheered, proud of their commander. On the other hand, Jiji and the Lamia elites exchanged envious glances. Diana sighed deeply, blaming herself for being talentless and allowing her former disciple to surpass her.
Felix smirked. "Perfect. Let's see how your defenses fare."
Taking aim, Felix steadied his breath and pulled the trigger. The air cracked as the mana-piercing round flew forward, emitting a faint, otherworldly hum.
*PU*
The mana-piercing bullet tore through the three golden walls with a deafening impact, leaving behind a massive, jagged hole.
Twenty-five of Zen's magic circuits shattered instantly, the 26th barely holding on with visible cracks webbing across its surface. The bullet, however, it flattened and fell to the ground, unable to penetrate her ultimate defenses.
The paladins erupted into cheers, celebrating what they perceived as Zen's victory. Yet, their commander's expression was far from jubilant. A shadow fell over her face as the true gravity of the weapon's power settled in.
Meanwhile, Jiji and Diana exchanged knowing grins, nodding to each other. Unlike the celebrating paladins, they grasped the deeper implications of the demonstration. They could clearly envision the outcome if Felix and Zen were to face off.
This was just one mana-piercing bullet, fired from a single rifle. The weapon in Felix's hands was capable of spitting out 40 rounds in mere seconds, leaving Zen no time to recast her shattered shields. And that was just Felix alone—his 400 elite troops, armed with the same rifles, could unleash a coordinated volley that would render even the strongest defenses meaningless.
As Felix lowered the rifle and turned to address the troops, Zen dispelled her shields. She glanced at her trembling hand. Her usually stoic demeanor was replaced with unease.
The raw force behind the bullet had left her shaken. A bead of sweat traced its way down her temple as she replayed the scene in her mind. The terrifying thought struck her
What if the entire battalion fired at her simultaneously? It was a nightmare scenario—utterly indefensible.
Ignoring her subordinates' celebratory cheers, she stepped forward to ask the question weighing on her mind. "Sir, can the real boomsticks produce the same force as yours if our people use them?"
Felix's lips curved into a smirk.
"Yes. Every single one of these boomsticks can produce the exact same results. In fact, even a pregnant woman with zero martial art background or magical training could achieve this level of power with these weapons."
"!!!"
Zen's pupils contracted as realization hit her like a freight train. She finally understood the army Felix was building.
The 400 elites standing before her were merely the beginning. Armed with weapons of this caliber, they would become an unstoppable force, far beyond the might of the Eleanor Church or any nation in existence. Once these soldiers mastered the rifles, they could train others, exponentially increasing their strength.
This wasn't just an improvement in combat capability. It was a revolution.
Magic? Aura? Both would become obsolete in the face of such overwhelming firepower. Warfare, strategy, and the very fabric of their world's military traditions would be irreversibly transformed.
Zen stood in stunned silence, stunned by the revelation.
Felix, meanwhile, gazed out over his troops. The smirk on his face grew wider.
"This is only the beginning," he muttered under his breath. "The old age has passed. We will now enter the age of FREEDOM!"
"F-Freedom?"
"Yes, freedom, liberty, DEMOCRACY!"
"???"
Zen was still puzzled by the new terms. One the other hand, Diana shook her head and wryly smiled as she was the only one who understood the joke.
.
While Felix and Diana diligently lectured the gathered troops about the functions, maintenance, and tactical use of their newly distributed weapons, Jiji stood to the side, silently reading through the contents of the latest system quest. Her sharp eyes scanned the glowing text floating before her.
Main Quest #14 - Army of the Future

Jiji furrowed her brow as she absorbed the quest details. Though there was no explicit time limit, the magnitude of preparation required made the task feel as daunting as any time-sensitive mission. Her thoughts drifted to the complexities ahead.
The need for advanced weapons distribution, cohesive training for a diverse army of paladins, lamias, and recruits from different cultural backgrounds, and the pressure of a one-shot simulation test all loomed large.
She sighed softly, unsure if they could accomplish this monumental task without setbacks. Still, her curiosity lingered on the mysterious "scenario quests" hinted at by the system.
Why demand such a rigorous foundation?
What kind of challenges lay ahead that required an army so finely honed and equipped?
Lost in thought, Jiji glanced back at the gathered soldiers. Some fumbled with their training rifles, others listened intently to Felix and Diana's instructions.
If this was just the beginning, what lay at the end of the road for this army—and their leader?
Felix's booming voice snapped Jiji out of her musings. "Alright, let's move to assembly and disassembly drills! If anyone tries to stick the wrong part in the wrong slot, you'll be running laps around Fate Plaza for an hour!"
Jiji couldn't help but smirk. The road ahead might be difficult, but with Felix leading the charge, there was a good chance they could pull it off. Still, she made a mental note to bring up the quest's requirements with Diana and Felix later. Preparation was everything, and she wanted their one attempt at the simulation to count.
