Building A Business Empire From Scratch In Another World

Chapter 169 : " Is That So "

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A deafening explosion shattered the stillness, sending shockwaves rippling through the air.

The very fabric of space trembled violently as a vast area, spanning hundreds of miles, was instantly obliterated.

Towering ancient trees and majestic mountains were reduced to mere dust, transforming a once vibrant landscape into an unrecognizable wasteland.

At the epicenter of this devastation, a colossal, bottomless abyss opened up, swallowing the Battle Wolves Adventurer Team whole.

In that moment of chaos, countless lives were extinguished before they even had a chance to scream; only a few managed to escape, but not without bearing severe injuries, some losing limbs in the process.

The survivors lay on the ground, wailing in agony as their faces contorted with pain.

The shockwaves from the attack echoed for thousands of miles, shattering Lyruis's barrier meant to contain Trinity and her allies.

Adventurers and Mana Cultivators scattered throughout the outer regions of the Twilight Mountain Range turned their gazes toward the source of this cataclysmic disturbance, confusion etched across their faces.

Who could possibly unleash such destructive power? A handful darted toward the noise with lightning speed.

--------------------

"Wh-what was that?" Lyruis stammered, his body trembling uncontrollably as fear gripped him.

His heart raced so wildly it felt like it might leap from his chest at any moment.

He was utterly shocked beyond belief at what had just transpired. What if he still being trapped? Wouldn't he have died by now.

As dread washed over him, his legs buckled beneath him and he knelt on the ground.

He wasn't alone; all eleven Tier 7 Legendary Knights and Mages around him shared his terror-stricken expression.

They stared wide-eyed at their surroundings, landscapes forever altered, and felt profound relief wash over them for having escaped in time; otherwise, they would surely have perished.

"Ahhhhhh!"

"Ahhhhhhh!"

Suddenly, two horrifying screams pierced through the air like daggers.

Goosebumps erupted on Lyruis's skin as he turned towards the source of those cries.

His eyes went blank with horror when he saw two Tier 7 Legendary Mages standing just meters away from him, one with a long green arrow embedded deep within his skull and another gruesomely impaled by tentacle-like branches that drained his life force until he resembled an emaciated corpse.

In stark contrast to this carnage stood Melian and Aegnor from the Morningstar Adventurer Team, smiling eerily at Lyruis from a distance.

"If Captain's attack couldn't take you out we will" Aegnor muttered under his breath as an intricate green magic circle beneath him began to fade away.

Both Aegnor and Melian suddenly looked up in unison, the blood-red sky had reverted back to its original blue hue dotted with fluffy white clouds.

Trinity floated in the air, her eyes closed, as she plummeted toward the ground.

"Captain! Big sis!" Brixton, Melian, and Aegnor shouted in unison when they spotted Trinity spiraling down from the sky.

Brixton dashed forward, catching her just in time. "Big sis!" His face was etched with concern as he gazed at Trinity.

She looked frail; her skin was ghostly pale, devoid of any color. Blood streamed from her eyes as if she were crying crimson tears.

"Aegnor! Get the fuck over here right now!" Brixton's voice boomed as he turned to Aegnor, who stood frozen in shock at a distance.

"Coming!" Aegnor and Melian rushed to join him.

"Captain!" They exclaimed simultaneously upon seeing Trinity's condition.

"What are you standing there for? Heal the Captain!" Melian urged Aegnor, who seemed momentarily dazed by the scene before him.

Snapping out of his stupor, Aegnor quickly cast a healing spell on Trinity.

A dense green glow enveloped her as wood elemental mana coalesced around her body, slowly seeping through her pores.

But despite their efforts, no improvement was evident; Trinity's face remained pale and locked in an expression of pain.

"The Captain isn't waking up," Aegnor said solemnly as he examined Trinity's still form. He intensified his healing spell, but it yielded no results.

In desperation, Brixton pulled out a stash of high-grade healing pills and potions, feeding them to Trinity one after another, but she remained unresponsive.

Aegnor took Trinity's hand and tried to sense her pulse. As he sent his consciousness into her body to assess her injuries...

BOOM!

He was suddenly blasted back by an unseen force, landing several meters away with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. Fear flickered in his eyes as he struggled to comprehend what had just happened.

"What happened?" Melian asked urgently as she rushed to help Aegnor stand.

"I don't know... I tried to check on her condition but something repelled me," he replied breathlessly. "I caught a glimpse of what's going on inside her... it's not good."

"Tell me everything," Brixton pressed anxiously.

After a brief hesitation and a deep breath, Aegnor continued with a grave expression: "When I probed into her essence, I discovered that all of her mana veins are shattered, but something is holding them together so they're completely scattered."

"What?!" Brixton and Melian gasped in shock.

"Are you sure?" Brixton asked tremulously.

"I'm certain," Aegnor affirmed with a heavy heart. "It seems like the attack Captain executed came at an enormous cost; her mana veins couldn't withstand the backlash."

"Big bro is really going to be mad," Brixton muttered, glancing down at Trinity, who lay injured in his arms.

Suddenly, a sharp sound sliced through the air, drawing the attention of Brixton, Aegnor, Melian, Lyruis, and the remaining members of their team.

They all turned toward the source of the noise and were met with a dazzling display, numerous streaks of light hurtling toward them.

"Looks like the commotion here has caught the attention of nearby Adventurers and Mana Cultivators," Aegnor remarked grimly. His expression darkened as he surveyed the scene.

The tension was palpable; Brixton and Melian wore equally troubled looks, while even Lyruis's face was that of concern but it quickly turned to a wicked smile as he spotted the Morningstar Adventurer Team in the distance.

Especially when he noticed Trinity's serious injuries.

Moments later, those streaks of light descended just a few miles away, revealing multiple figures representing various tiers of cultivation, some Adventurers and others merely Mana Cultivators drawn to the Twilight Mountain Range by curiosity or ambition.

As they took in their surroundings, shock washed over their faces; they stood speechless amidst the destruction that surrounded them.

"What... what happened here?" one voice trembled in disbelief.

"Hisss! This... this is truly..." Another stammered as they continued to survey the devastation around them.

"Hey! Look over there! Isn't that Lyruis from the Battle Wolves Adventurer Team? What's he doing here?" one newcomer pointed out.

"And isn't that the Vice Captain of the Morningstar Adventurer Team? Wait, there's their Captain too!" another exclaimed.

"Yeah, but it looks like she's seriously injured as well."

"Did both teams cause all this chaos?"

"It seems so! It must have been an epic battle to turn hundreds of miles into a wasteland!"

"Damn! What strength!"

The newcomers exchanged stunned glances and whispered among themselves as they absorbed what had transpired.

-------------------------

"Well, well, well," Lyruis's voice rang out suddenly as he approached Brixton and his group with his men trailing behind him, all wearing wicked grins.

Brixton, Aegnor, and Melian exchanged worried glances as they spotted Lyruis striding toward them.

Their expressions tightened; they all knew that escaping this time would be an uphill battle.

Trinity lay gravely injured in Brixton's arms, trapped in a coma, and their group had already endured devastating losses from Lyruis's initial ambush.

Now, only the three of them and a handful of remaining allies stood ready to fight, but even together, they were no match for Lyruis and his men.

"Lyruis," Aegnor stepped forward bravely, his voice steady despite the fear gnawing at him. "We've all suffered enough losses. Why don't we call it quits? Continuing this conflict won't benefit either of us."

Lyruis turned his icy gaze on Aegnor, a cruel smirk twisting his lips. The air around him crackled with palpable menace as he replied, "You think I'll just let this go after everything that's happened? You must be dreaming."Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"You've slaughtered thousands of my men," he continued, rage boiling beneath the surface. "You've taken down two Tier 7 Legendary Mages and left many others seriously injured. Do you really expect me to walk away from this? Not a chance." His fists clenched tightly at his sides.

"I'm going to wipe out every last one of you, especially that captain of yours," Lyruis sneered, casting a malicious glance at Trinity. "Killing her will never be enough."

A wicked grin spread across his face as he added darkly, "I plan to turn her into a plaything for my Battle Wolves Adventurer Team, let them enjoy her first."

Brixton and the others face changed drastically ad they looked at Lyus with anger in their eyes.

Brixton face was especially filled anger as he looked at Lyruis.

" Lyruis I'm warning you if you do something else my big sis you are going to die a horrible death even the Battle Wolves Adventurer Team might not be able to save you" Brixton said while his hie expression calmed down.

"Hahahah! Brixton you already like this and you still dare to threaten me, what a fool " Lyruis laughed and said, " I'm going to do what I said, don't believe watch!".

Just then, a calm yet chilling voice sounded behind Lyruis:

"Oh is that so?"
