Apocalypse - Evil Shelter System

Chapter 380 Dwindling Numbers

Dennis took a breath. The series of actions he had just performed had drained a lot of his energy, and he needed a moment to rest.

He glanced at the nearby zombies, noticing they were already lifeless.

Dennis sighed in relief. That was a close call. Luckily, his strength had recovered significantly; otherwise, dealing with these silver zombies would have been much harder.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"It looks like I need to find a gun or a dagger, otherwise, it will be tough to take them down," Dennis muttered with a frown.

"Yeah, this is a military base. There must be an armory somewhere."

"Let's get out of here first."

Dennis took a deep breath, preparing to leave.

"Swish!" Suddenly, a sharp whistling sound cut through the air, and a dark object shot towards Dennis.

"Watch out!" Alex shouted in alarm, wanting to help.

"Whoosh!" Dennis quickly dodged, but his skin was still grazed, and a drop of blood seeped out.

"Damn bastard," Dennis growled, his face dark with anger.

"Bang!" Another dull thud sounded, and Dennis took another heavy hit.

"Cough, cough..." Dennis coughed violently, nearly spitting out blood, and staggered backward.

Just then, he suddenly heard the sound of flowing water.

Dennis paused, then quickly looked up to see a figure rapidly approaching.

"Splish!" With a splash of water, a man emerged and leaped towards Dennis.

Dennis's face changed, and he quickly sidestepped, avoiding the attack.

"Swish!" The man's attack missed, and Dennis grabbed his arm, throwing him forcefully to the ground.

"Crack!" The sound of the man's bones breaking was audible, and he groaned in pain, struggling to get up.

"Bang, bang, bang!" Dennis seized the opportunity, delivering three punches in quick succession, knocking the man out cold.

After finishing, Dennis exhaled deeply, his entire body drenched.

At this point, Dennis was completely drained. If he had fought another zombie, it would have been even more troublesome, as the previous battle had already exhausted his energy reserves. Explore more stories with empire

Dennis slowly took a couple of steps and reached the edge of the pool, looking down.

"Hiss~ It's so cold," Dennis gasped, shivering. Alex extended a hand to stop him.

"Don't make any sudden moves. We don't know how many zombies are still lurking around. Acting rashly will only put us in more danger," Alex advised.

Alex made a good point. Since the appearance of these zombies, they had no idea how many more there could be. Acting impulsively could lead to their demise.

"You're right. So what do we do? Just sit here and wait?" Dennis asked, frowning.

"Let's get back to the truck. It's safer there," Alex suggested.

"Okay," Dennis agreed. He and Alex then returned to the truck.

Not long after they got into the truck, they heard noises outside again. Faint roars and growls of zombies indicated that they were searching for them frantically.

Dennis and Alex shivered. They didn't dare to move around recklessly, fearing that they might attract an even larger horde of zombies.

They sat quietly in the truck, waiting patiently.

"Hum, hum..." Suddenly, the truck emitted a low hum, as if something was hitting the windows.

"Thump!" A shadow jumped onto the truck's roof, its feet landing with a screeching sound.

"Damn it! So many of them," Dennis exclaimed, startled. He quickly pushed open the door and jumped out.

He saw a group of zombies surrounding the truck, their mouths open in raspy cries, baring sharp fangs with terrifying expressions.

"So many zombies!" Alex exclaimed, eyes wide in shock, unable to stop himself from cursing.

"Damn!" Dennis echoed, unable to believe the sheer number of zombies surrounding them.

The zombies crowded around the truck, almost every single one with a single horn on its head, looking vicious and ferocious.

Dennis scanned the area and finally focused on one particular zombie.

This zombie was about twice the size of an average one, standing at around 1.75 meters tall, with bulging muscles, blood-red eyes, and an aura of cold, murderous intent. It looked extremely dangerous.

"Roar, roar, roar!" The zombie roared towards the sky, swinging its claws and creating a gust of wind that sent sand and stones flying.

"This one seems a lot stronger than the regular zombies," Dennis remarked, frowning.

"Yeah, it definitely is," Alex agreed, nodding.

The zombie's burly frame and fierce appearance were intimidating, enough to strike fear into anyone.

"Howl!" The zombie let out a deafening roar before charging at Dennis with swift, powerful strides.

Dennis's pupils contracted, and his expression changed as he quickly sidestepped to avoid the deadly attack.

The zombie's strength was immense; if Dennis had been a moment slower, he would have been crushed into pulp by its blow.

"Wham!" The next second, Dennis delivered a powerful kick to the zombie's chest.

"Bang!" With a loud crash, the zombie flew back like a kite with a broken string, landing heavily on the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

The zombie let out a pained howl before lying still on the ground.

"Damn! Such hard bones, almost broke my leg," Dennis muttered, rubbing his ankle, wincing in pain.

Alex couldn't help but swallow nervously, thinking to himself, "This guy is brutal! That kick probably destroyed that zombie."

"Roar, roar, roar!" Suddenly, another wave of zombies arrived, roaring and charging at Dennis like a surging tide.

"Damn!" Dennis's face changed as he turned to run.

Although that zombie was tough, it didn't mean Dennis wasn't afraid of the others.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Dennis kicked three zombies out of his way, then quickly darted into a nearby bush to hide.

"Roar!" A large zombie chased after him, roaring at the bushes as if warning Dennis not to hide or face dire consequences.

Dennis's heart raced, and he held his breath, not daring to move as the zombie got closer and closer.

"Roar!" The zombie roared again, then leaped towards Dennis's hiding spot.

Taking a deep breath, Dennis bit down, stood up, and prepared to fight.

He knew the zombie was fast and he probably couldn't win in close combat, so he quickly pulled out his gun and fired.

"Rat-tat-tat!" The muzzle flashed, the sound of bullet casings hitting the ground echoed sharply in the silent night.

Bullets rained out, all hitting the zombie's head.

The zombie howled in pain, its body shaking violently, stumbling back several steps before collapsing to the ground.
